In fact, I'm kind of worried it has bad things in the plastic, and I've considered replacing it, but none of the ones I've seen say anything about what's not in the plastic. It may be #4 which is OK, since it has a 4 in a circle on the bottom. It says "made in Japan" but everything else is in Japanese. Any Asian market will have one. But why not just use the tofu press, it's the same thing, just smaller. At least try it to see if you like making pickles. If you end up with a block of pickles the size of a block of tofu, that should be enough for several sandwiches.Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16146578985330272891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2279822094292237889.post-25734969734767247832011-12-09T11:55:11.695-08:002011-12-09T11:55:11.695-08:00Ok Andrea, now I really need your pickler. As for the tofu turkey, I'm already beginning to think up variations and improvements — all theoretical at this point.Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16146578985330272891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2279822094292237889.post-1109315736285931222011-11-29T09:50:40.432-08:002011-11-29T09:50:40.432-08:00Your smoothie sounds perfect to get started with.

I think I'll try to half the recipe though since I'm sure I'll be the only one eating it. :o) It sounds and looks so good. It was pretty good, but I'm not sure if it will appear again next year or not. :)

Foodfeud,
I think there is only so much tofu one can eat in a meal. We ate it again tonight, and there's still some left. It just won't go away. That and the pumpkin pie, which actually tasted much better today than on Thursday.

Zoa,
I'm not sure I'd call it light, but it was good. I'd like to try making it with a yuba crust. Thanks for the meatball suggestion — maybe I'll do that tomorrow, 'cause yes, there's still some left. And, hey, if you don't want to eat the leftovers as is, they would be perfect to just mash up and make into "meatballs" and freeze for another day ;-) But somehow I doubt you'll have to resort to that.
